The Risks of Cross-Chain Swap, and How We Handle Them

Non-custodial solves "the platform runs off" — it doesn't solve network congestion, market volatility, or a mistyped address. This page lays out every category of risk and exactly what we do about it.

Four Categories of Risk

Grouped by source. Each card pairs the risk with AllSwap's countermeasure.

/ 01 NETWORK

Network Risk

The source or destination chain can experience congestion, forks, rollbacks, or unplanned downtime. These delay confirmations and, in extreme cases, prevent a swap from settling at all.

Our Counter

We combine real-time quotes, a 30-minute lock, and refund automatically on failure to minimize network volatility's impact. We charge nothing when a chain is down.

/ 02 MARKET

Market Risk

Crypto prices move in real time. Between the moment you initiate a swap and the moment market-maker bidding settles, prices can swing sharply and shift the amount you actually receive.

Our Counter

"Minimum received" is your floor — the number you see is the commitment, and you'll only ever receive that or more. Under extreme volatility a market-maker may decline, and funds refund automatically to your source address.

/ 03 PROTOCOL

Protocol Risk

Cross-chain settlement depends on decentralized protocols, with independent market-makers providing liquidity. Even with third-party audits, smart-contract risk can never be fully ruled out.

Our Counter

We only integrate mature, audited protocols and continuously monitor settlement status. If something goes wrong at the protocol layer, we pause the affected pairs and publish a notice.

/ 04 OPERATIONAL

User Operational Risk

Mistyped address, wrong network, sending to an unsupported contract — once an on-chain transfer confirms, it is irreversible. No platform can recover it.

Our Counter

The swap page highlights the chain selector and validates address format. Always verify the address and destination chain character by character before sending — this step is on you.

What We Guarantee / What We Don't

Drawing the line — no inflated promises.

What We Guarantee

  • Funds never enter an AllSwap account — every step is on-chain verifiable
  • Normal failures refund automatically to the sending address
  • The rate stays locked for 30 minutes after you get a quote
  • Fees and the receive amount are what you see, period

What We Can't Guarantee

  • Confirmation speed when a chain is congested or down
  • Market-maker availability during extreme volatility
  • The consequences of a phishing attack or leaked private key on your wallet
  • Irreversible on-chain mistakes from a wrong address or wrong chain

What to Do When Something Goes Wrong

Three steps, in this order.

  1. / 01
    Check Status by Deposit Address

On the swap page, enter the deposit address from this swap to see the live status: awaiting payment / swapping / completed / refunded. Most "missing" funds are just confirmation delays — the status will say so.

  2. / 02
    Compare Against Source-Chain Confirmation Time

Bitcoin 30–60 minutes, Ethereum 1–3 minutes, Solana a few seconds — check the source chain's normal confirmation window first to see whether you're still inside it.

  3. / 03
    Contact Support to Verify

If you're past the expected time and there's still no receipt or refund, send the deposit address to @allswapservice and we'll trace it transaction by transaction. Do not resend.

Risk FAQ

Is non-custodial the same as risk-free?

No. Non-custodial guarantees we never touch or move your funds, but market volatility, mistyped addresses, and chain congestion still apply — none of those depend on custody.

If a swap fails, can I lose my funds?

Normal failures (slippage or expired quote) refund automatically to your source address — nothing is lost. The truly irreversible case is a wrong address or wrong network: that's a rule of the chain, not something any platform can reverse.

Does AllSwap give investment advice?

No. AllSwap is a swap tool only and does not provide investment, financial, or tax advice. Crypto assets carry significant risk — make decisions based on your own situation.
